Dear Parents/Carers
As part of our continued drive to support year 11 in achieving excellent outcomes this summer, the English Department will be creating new classes from Monday based upon students’ current data.
We will be looking to support students who are not currently forecast a grade 4 in either English Literature or Language through the creation of new classes that will focus more heavily on English Language which is assessed on a range of skills. Students in these classes will focus for 4 lessons a week on Language with one Literature class to ensure they are able to continue both courses of study.
We endeavour the benefits will be in supporting students to be able to achieve a minimum of a grade 4 in English Language which will ensure students are able to access their next courses of study in September.
Consequently, this will mean that your child may be moved into a different class to accommodate these changes.
