Feedback from Parent Survey

Dear Parents/Carers

Thank you for taking the time to participate in the recent parent survey.  We value your feedback and take all comments seriously as we strive to continuously improve Strood Academy.

One of our foundations at Strood Academy as part of Vision 2028 is to build strong, collaborative, community relations and working together is key to this.

Your feedback highlighted the school’s strengths in several areas:

  • The improvement in behaviour and uniform standards. We are very proud of our pupils each and every day.
  • Improvement in teaching. We are proud of our dedicated teachers and the strong academic progress our students are making.
  • Leadership and strategic direction: We appreciate your recognition of the new leadership’s efforts and the positive direction the school is taking.
  • Support for specific needs: We are committed to providing targeted support for students with specific needs and are encouraged by your acknowledgement of our efforts in this area.
  • Improved offer of extra-curricular activities and after school interventions. We appreciate the recognition that our teachers are going the extra mile to support our pupils outside of the curriculum.

We understand there are areas where we can improve, and we are particularly focused on addressing the following concerns raised in the survey:

  • Communication: Whilst we have made extended efforts to increase our parental communication streams through weekly bulletins, social media feeds and website, we recognise we must still improve in this area. The introduction of our parent drop in sessions, request a call back function as well as our specific college email and telephone contacts are having a positive impact. Moving forward we will be reviewing our practices here to ensure we provide an improved service.
  • Toilets: We acknowledge concerns regarding toilet facilities and have set upon a project of refurbishments. This year we have commenced with Trafalgar College and installed external doors which have cost in excess of £15,000, the next steps are to develop a further female toilet in Trafalgar College and then start to progress into Hercules College and Victory College.

We are confident that by working together, we can address these concerns and create an even more positive and enriching learning environment for all Strood Academy students.

In the coming weeks, we will be providing further information on the specific actions we are taking to address the feedback received. We encourage you to stay connected through our website, social media as well as our weekly updates.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Yours faithfully

Mr Jon Richardson | Principal
