Dear Parents/Carers
Work Experience: Monday 18th March – Friday 22nd March
Strood Academy Sixth Form is excited to inform you that year 12 work experience will be the week beginning Monday 18th March 2024. I’m sure you will agree this is an excellent opportunity for your child to experience what it is like to work full time; to find out if the career they have in mind is for them; and to develop a number of skills such as communication and responsibility.
During period 1 today, your child’s tutor has explained the processes that need to be followed in order for work experience to go ahead and when work experience selection goes live, which is the 19th January 2024. Placements are organised by the company MEBP, and confirmation of places will be given in February.
However, we are aware that some of our students wish to organise their own placements; this is fine to do so, but a form must be completed and returned to the tutor no later than Wednesday 6th December. Your child has been given the form today by their tutor and can collect another one, if needed, from their tutor or by me, Ms Hancock.
