Y11 February Half Term Revision Material

Dear Parents/Carers

As your child enters the crucial Year 11, we at Strood Academy are committed to supporting them in achieving their full potential during their upcoming exams. We understand that this can be a stressful time for both students and parents, and we want to assure you that we are here to help every step of the way.

To this end, we have created a comprehensive revision resource page specifically for Year 11 students, this also has our February half term intervention schedule where you can sign up for sessions.

This can all be found on our school website at the following link: Year 11 Support Page.

This page is packed with valuable resources, including:

  • Mock exam papers and mark schemes: These will help students familiarise themselves with the exam format and expectations, and identify areas where they need to focus their revision.
  • Subject-specific revision guides: These guides provide targeted support for each subject, with tips, tricks, and practice questions.
  • Intervention sessions: We offer a variety of intervention sessions in different subjects, which students can attend to get extra help from our dedicated teachers.
  • Exam stress management tips: We understand that exam stress is a real issue for many students. This section provides tips and techniques to help students manage their stress levels and stay focused.

We encourage you to explore this resource page with your child and to discuss the different revision materials that are available. We also recommend that you:

  • Create a dedicated revision timetable: Help your child create a realistic and achievable revision timetable that they can stick to.
  • Provide a quiet and distraction-free study space: This will help your child focus on their studies and avoid interruptions.
  • Encourage regular breaks: It is important for students to take regular breaks to avoid burnout. Encourage them to get up and move around every 30-60 minutes.
  • Offer support and encouragement: Let your child know that you are there for them and that you believe in them. Your positive support can make a big difference to their motivation and confidence.
  • Communicate with your child’s teachers: If you have any concerns about your child’s progress, please do not hesitate to contact their teachers. They are always happy to provide additional support and guidance.

We believe that by working together, we can help our Year 11 students achieve their exam goals. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours faithfully

Mr S. Fatania | Assistant Principal
