The Strood Academy Student council met for the first meeting of the academic year today. All members had been elected by their peers following a tightly fought election campaign. The meeting was led by the Senior Students from the Sixth Form who were fantastic. The responsibilities of a Student Council member were outlined as were expectations. The students discussed a wide range of topics which are important to student life such as teaching and learning and the canteen. The students made some excellent suggestions on how to move things forward for the Academy. The students are already looking forward to their term 2 meeting when they will be joined by the representatives from Year 11.
