Dear Parents/Carers
Firstly, I hope you’ve all enjoyed a restful summer break, embracing the opportunity to spend time with family and friends.
I am delighted to be sharing Vision 2028 with you, Vision 2028 is underpinned by 10 foundations, these foundations are the cornerstone of all that we say, we think and we do. Whilst we set upon our journey to excellence, our foundations will remain the key ingredients for success, they will remain constant and enable us to achieve Vision 2028. Vision 2028 has been developed in collaboration with LAT 2030 to ensure a Trust approach to academy improvement. Vision 2028 has been co-created by all stakeholders within the academy to ensure we are focused on what really matters. We are due to launch Vision 2028 for the new academic year so please do take a moment to understand the strategic direction moving forward for the academic year of 2023/24 and beyond.
I write to you today to share further details of our return to the academy for the new school year. This follows the letter I sent on our final day on term in module 6. A link can be found here for your reference.
Since writing to you last, we’ve had the opportunity to celebrate with our Year 11 and Year 13 pupils who received their examination results. It was with delight that we could welcome pupils into the academy and share this momentous moment with them. We’ve achieved record breaking numbers attending university as well as increasing numbers of pupils returning to our sixth form here at Strood Academy. Please find press releases below for Year 11 and Year 13 but also from the Leigh Academies Trust. This will provide you with further details and celebratory photographs of our pupils receiving such excellent results.
We also take a moment to celebrate the successes of our recent summer school. We had over 100 pupils attend each day to ensure our new year 7 pupils are best prepared for starting at Strood Academy on Friday 4th September. Thank you to all members of our staff that supported the excellent and smooth running of this event.
You will be aware that we are implementing a staggered start to the academic year. Please click here for further information but also the term dates for 2023/24. We look forward to welcoming all pupils back to the academy, please be reminded our academy opens from 08:00 and all pupils are expected to be on the academy site by no later than 08:30.

We continue to strive to improve our communications within the academy and your feedback is always welcome. To support this since Easter we have provided parents/carers a weekly bulletin which shares all the relevant information with you. I hope you’ve found this useful and beneficial to keep updated of all information within the academy. To further streamline our communications we implemented direct communications to College pastoral offices, you can now use the telephone systems to direct your call to Trafalgar College, Victory College or Hercules College. This should ensure your phone call is answered promptly and matters dealt with in a timely manner. We also have implemented a direct email address for you to ensure you can contact the relevant College team directly, a reminder of the email addresses are below for you:
To further support our commitment to improving communications please can we ask that you update the academy with any changes to telephone numbers, home addresses and email addresses to ensure we can direct communications to the correct place.
This academic year we will be communicating with parents/carers via the MCAS app, this will be used should we need to inform you of reward points, behaviour points and detentions where necessary.
