Cooking Practical for Strood Academy Students

Strood Academy Letter image

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. Thank you for your contribution to ingredients in the last academic year. This year students in Key stage 3 (Year 7,8,9) are currently studying design which is a carousel of Design,Food and IT. Therefore, all students will be studying Food at some point this year. To make this endeavour possible, we would like to remind you of the nominal fee of £5 per student in Key Stage 3 (year 7,8,9).

The Food classes will cover a wide range of culinary topics, including basic cooking techniques, meal planning, nutrition, and the preparation of various dishes. Our aim is to equip our students with the knowledge and confidence to prepare their own meals, make healthier food choices, and appreciate the value of home-cooked food.

Your contribution of £5 will go towards purchasing high-quality ingredients, which is important to allow students to experience our Food curriculum. We believe that this investment will have a long-lasting impact on your child’s life, providing them with valuable skills that they can carry with them well into adulthood.

To ensure a successful implementation of these cooking classes, we kindly request that you submit the £5 fee by the new deadline of 30th September 2024. You may submit the payment via ParentPay clearly indicating your child’s name and form group.

We understand that financial circumstances may vary, and we are committed to ensuring that every student has an equal opportunity to participate.

Thank you for your attention and continued partnership. Without your contribution it is not possible to be delivering practical cooking lessons at Strood Academy. Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us via email or over the phone. We look forward to an exciting and rewarding Food program at Strood Academy.

Yours sincerely,

Mr H Janagel
Head of Design and Food
