Year 7 ATL Reports

Strood Academy Letter image

Dear Parents/Carers,

Today you will have received your child’s first progress report on the MCAS platform. The report includes:

  • An attendance figure
  • Accumulative reward & behaviour points
  • An Attitude to Learning (AtL) grade in each subject

We are providing this report at this early stage to give you an indication of how well your child has settled into their
subjects and into Strood Academy. We appreciate that it is too early for teachers to accurately produce indicators on
academic progress and so a fuller report which includes their progress across all International Baccalaureate Middle
Years Programme subjects will follow later in the academic year.

Attendance

An attendance figure is included in this report in order to raise awareness of the strong correlation between high
attendance and excellent academic outcomes. We are acutely aware that a figure of 90% or below will likely result in a
student achieving at least 1 grade below their target grade and so excellent attendance is paramount to a successful
report.

Reward & Behaviour Points

We use reward points as a way of recognising the excellent academic progress and conduct of our pupils. Earning reward
points, which reflect our 10 IB Learner Profile attributes, is a wonderful achievement which we celebrate regularly in
college line ups and assemblies.
