Dear Parents/Carers,

Chromebook Scheme: Loan Chromebooks and Chromebook repair

We are writing to remind you of the expectations regarding our Chromebook scheme. As you know, we offer free repairs for accidental damage to Chromebooks. The number of incidents of accidental and intentional damage logs are not acceptable. These include incidents such as pupils removing stickers, scratching or vandalising the touchpad, missing keys, graffiti on the keyboard and broken screens.

Please note that all damages will be investigated whilst pupils are placed in ‘IER pending’, and any purposeful damage will result in a minimum sanction of 5 days in the Lodge provision. All

accidental damage will not receive a sanction.

To maximise learning time, we are adjusting the times for Chromebook repairs and loan

Chromebook collection. All Chromebook repairs and loan Chromebooks must be taken care of before the line-up at 8:35 AM. The library is open from 8:00 AM to 8:25 AM, providing access to the school during this time. If a pupil arrives at line-up with a broken Chromebook or has not seen Mrs. McGirr to pick up a loan device, they will be sent to IER until the library is open. It is the pupils responsibility to have this organised.

This shall commence from Monday 18th November.

Our Chromebook scheme is a significant investment, and it is crucial, to support learning in lessons, all pupils have access to a Chromebook. We understand that accidental damage can occur, and pupils will never be sanctioned for damage beyond their control. However, it is essential that this privilege is appreciated, and pupils understand the importance of taking care of their Chromebooks.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Yours sincerely,
Jamie Minshull | Assistant Principal
