Dear Year 10 Parents/Guardians,
Re: Upcoming Year 10 Work Experience – 19th to 23rd May 2025
We are writing to update you regarding our work experience week for our Year 10 students, scheduled to take place from next Monday 19th May to Friday 23rd May 2025. We are genuinely excited about this valuable opportunity for your son/daughter to gain first-hand experience of the world of work and develop essential skills for their future endeavors.
Please see the presentation that was received by pupils on Wednesday this week. It outlines all the final checks and procedures that need to be followed in preparation for Monday.
Work Experience Lesson 2024/25- 5 days to go
We firmly believe that this work experience will be an invaluable opportunity for our Year 10 students to cultivate their confidence, gain meaningful insights into diverse industries, and significantly enhance their employability skills. We deeply appreciate your support in encouraging your child to fully engage with this important process.
Please be aware that any student who does not attend their allocated work experience placement will be required to attend school during that week. Their regular weekly lessons will not take place; instead, they will be based in the internal engagement room, working on tasks related to Unifrog, our online careers programme, throughout the week.
Please follow the usual absence reporting procedure below to report any sickness etc:
- The academy must be contacted on the first day of absence and each day of absence after.
- Contact by calling the academy line on 01634 717121 and select extension 2, or via email attendance@stroodacademy.org.
- Also contact the work placement to inform them of the absence.
We wish all our students good luck throughout the week and can’t wait to hear about their experiences on their return to school on Monday the 2nd of June.
Please be aware of one final reminder that the log books must be taken to the placements daily and the emergency contacts section must be completed.
Should you have any questions or concerns at any point during the week, please do not hesitate to contact me directly via email at michael.williams@stroodacademy.org.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Yours sincerely,
Mr M Williams | Assistant Principal, Strood Academy
