Dear Year 6 Parents and Carers,
As you are aware, the academy is undergoing a rebranding from Strood Academy to Leigh Academy Strood, effective from 1st September 2025. In light of this transition, there have been numerous inquiries regarding the uniform. To assist you in this matter, I have compiled some important details below.
To clarify, when you purchase new uniform items, they will feature the new academy logo.
At Strood Academy to best protect pupil’s chromebooks we have two items of uniform that are added to our compulsory list:
These include:
- The use of a rucksack, backpack or portfolio bag which will ensure there is adequate protection for pupils’ chromebooks and belongings. This will also provide more enhanced protection during adverse weather conditions whilst pupils travel to and from school.
- From September 2025, all Year 7 pupils will be required to have the branded Leigh Academy Strood rucksack or portfolio bag. This can be ordered directly from our uniform supplier from June 1st 2025.
- The chromebook case/sleeve will offer support and protection to safeguard chromebooks, minimising the risk of damage from everyday wear and tear or accidental drops. This is a non-branded item and can be ordered using the links below. You are more than welcome to complete your own search for suitable items.
- To clarify, this part of our uniform isn’t required to be branded with the Leigh Academy Strood logo, this is to reduce costs further for you:
We appreciate your understanding and support. Both items support the Chromebook being kept safe and secure during the academy day as well as on the way to and from the academy.
From 1st June 2025, any uniform purchased will be dispatched with the new academy logo including the academy bag.
Please note that the final date for delivery to the academy for uniform orders intended for September 2025 is 13th June. Additionally, the latest date for home delivery orders in preparation for September is 1st August. I encourage you to keep these dates in mind as we approach the summer months.
We have arranged for both home delivery (which will incur a postage and packing charge) and academy delivery as options when purchasing uniforms online. Please remember that if you select the academy delivery option, uniforms will be dispatched every two weeks, which may lead to some delays from order to delivery.
