Transition Day – Thursday 3rd July 2025
I am writing to say how delighted I am that you have chosen to join us in September for the next chapter in your school experience. Starting secondary school is an extremely exciting time and we have a fantastic transition programme that will help your child to get to know the school and answer any questions they may have before they start here in September.
Transition sessions at Strood Academy
We have already started the transition programme with our weekly sessions taking place each Wednesday. To date, we have had a phenomenal response and uptake from our new pupils. It has been excellent to see how engaged they have been with a range of activities on offer, please register here
Transition day at Strood Academy:
We are inviting your child to join us for a special welcome programme at Strood Academy on Thursday 3rd July. This is an ideal opportunity to meet staff and to work with other new students in a range of activities. Your child must attend in their Primary School PE kit as they will be taking part in a PE session during the day, as well as other subject sessions. Your child will also need to bring a packed lunch with them to eat at lunch time and plenty to drink. When registering in the morning your child will also discover their college placement. In addition to this your child will not need their mobile phone throughout the day. We would be grateful if you would make arrangements for your child to arrive at the Academy from 9:00am – 9:15am. Please do not arrive before 9:00 am as there is limited parking at the academy. Your child will be greeted at the main gates by academy staff who will direct students towards the Restaurant where they will register for the day.
Parent welcome meeting during transition day at 2:15pm:
We would also like to invite you to the Academy for a welcome meeting with the Leadership Team starting at 2:15pm and begin the basis of an effective working relationship that will support your child to flourish and achieve to the best of their ability. Please arrive from 2:00pm, the meeting will finish our transition day by 2:45pm.
If your child is unable to attend on the Transition day, please email transition@stroodacademy.org by Friday 27 June to inform us.
