Summer School
I am writing to tell you more about Summer School this year. We will be running a Summer School on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th July 2025, 10am until 2pm for our new Year 7 students joining us in September. This will be a wonderful opportunity for your child to experience their new Academy in preparation for September. The Summer School will be run by staff at the Academy overseeing providing a fun-packed and engaging programme over the two days.
Our summer school aims to:
• Allow students to familiarise themselves with their new environment.
• Help them make new friends, get to know some of their new teachers, and build confidence through team building activities.
• Build self-confidence to support a smooth transition from primary school to secondary school.
The provision is completely free, your child will need to bring in a home packed lunch and a bottle of water.
We would be grateful if you would make arrangements for your child to arrive at the Academy for 9.45am ready to start at 10:00am. As your child enters the main gates at 9:45am staff will be there to guide students towards the main reception where they will register with us at the signing-in stations. Students will finish at 2pm and will be dismissed from the main hall.
Please can you ensure that your child is wearing sensible, suitable clothing when attending such as tracksuit bottoms, trainers, t-shirt, jumper, and a suitable jacket if the weather requires one. Caps are also permitted if sunny and a full water bottle is recommended. Please ensure that you have applied sun lotion if the weather requires before they arrive at the Academy.
