Dear Parents and Carers,

I write to share with you the exceptional achievements of Year 11 at Strood Academy in this year’s GCSE results. It brings me great pleasure to announce that Strood Academy has achieved a record-breaking year with considerable improvements in academic outcomes for our pupils.

I extend my warmest congratulations to all pupils who are rejoicing in their achievements at Strood Academy. Their commitment, perseverance, and determination have resulted in excellent results that now provide them with a myriad of choices and opportunities for their future educational and employment pathways. Moreover, it is imperative to acknowledge the holistic development of our students into well-rounded individuals equipped for the challenges of the 21st century.

In particular, the academy has seen a significant rise in headline measures, with a commendable increase of 4+ in English and Maths, and a notable improvement of 5+ in English and Maths. This success is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and resilience exhibited by our pupils throughout their studies.

Behind the success of our pupils lies the unwavering support and expertise of all staff at Strood Academy. I commend our staff for their dedication, guidance, and encouragement which have been integral in nurturing our pupils towards academic excellence. Their hard work has enabled our students to realise their full potential and excel in their studies.

Additionally, I am pleased to highlight the exceptional achievements in various subjects:

  • Fine art, digital information technology, catering, photography, financial studies, Spanish, 3D design, citizenship, computer science, drama, enterprise, health and fitness, maths, English literature, English language and history, all with significant percentages of pupils achieving outstanding results.

I am immensely proud of the accomplishments of our pupils who have exemplified the core values of Strood Academy – being respectful, kind, inquisitive, and resilient. As we celebrate their successes, we extend our best wishes for their future endeavours in continued education, training, and employment.

Our results highlights for our Year 11 pupils include:

  • Navaneeth who achieved grade 9 in English language, maths, combined science, computer science, grade 8 in statistics, level 2 distinction in digital information technology and a distinction* in enterprise and marketing. 
  • Emmanuella who achieved grade 9-8 in combined science, grade 8 in English literature and geography, grade 7 in maths and English language and grade 5 in statistics and 3D design. 
  • Lisa who achieved grade 8 in English literature, a grade 7 in maths, spanish, geography, grade 7-6 in combined science, grade 6 history and grade 5 in statistics.
  • Ethan who achieved grade 9-9 in combined science, grade 9 in computer science, grade 7 in English literature and maths, grade 6 English language and geography and grade 5 in statistics. 
  • Simonas who achieved a grade 8-7 in combined science, grade 7 in English literature, English language, and maths, grade 6 in geography, distinction in digital information technology and catering. 
  • Alfie who achieved grade 8 in citizenship, grade 7 in combined science, English literature, geography and history, grade 6 in maths and English language. 
  • Peculiar who achieved a grade 8-8 in combined science, grade 7 in maths, grade 6 in English literature, English language and geography and grade 5 in history and statistics.

Sixth Form at Strood Academy

We are delighted to welcome so many of our Year 11 pupils to join our Sixth Form from September 2024, including many external pupils from other local schools. Further careers support for our Year 11 pupils

To further support our pupils in their onward destinations we will continue to provide careers guidance and advice should any pupil require this at a later stage. Please email office@stroodacademy.org and a member of our team will be in contact.  The National Careers Service runs a Get Help with Exam Results service. Support is available on the National Careers Service website and students can chat to a careers adviser over the phone or by webchat.
