Year 10 Theatre Trip – An Inspector Calls

Strood Academy Letter image

Dear Parents/Carers

We are excited to be able to offer 30 year 10 students the opportunity to visit The New Wimbledon Theatre to watch ‘An Inspector Calls’ by J.B. Priestley on Wednesday 28th May 2025. This is a text that students will have just finished studying and will be assessed on in their year 10 mocks and their GCSE Literature exams at the end of year 11. This is an excellent chance to see a play they have studied come to life on stage and to support them in their understanding of the drama texts they will go on to study.

We will travel to and from the theatre by coach. Students will come to school as usual, in full school uniform, and have the opportunity to collect lunch in the school restaurant before departure at 12.15pm.

We are aiming to return to the academy by 7pm though we will be able to confirm this closer to the time when the venue has confirmed the runtime of the show.

To cover the price of the theatre ticket as well as the coach fare the cost of the trip will be £41pp payable via ParentPay. As places for this trip are limited to 30, a quick sign up will make it more likely a place is secured.

I hope you agree this is an excellent opportunity for your child to experience live theatre. If you have any questions please email annjulie.webster@stroodacademy.org

Yours faithfully
