Dear Parents/Carers,
I am pleased to extend an exciting opportunity for our Citizenship students to attend a day trip to the Houses of Parliament. This educational visit will include a guided tour of this historic institution, followed by an engaging workshop aimed at deepening the student’s understanding of the UK’s political system.
The trip is scheduled for Friday 7th February, and we plan to meet at Strood train station at 8am. Students will return to Strood train station by approximately 5pm. Should you require assistance with arranging transportation for your child to and from the academy to the train station, please let me know.
Please note that this has been scheduled as a year 11 trip, however I have 3 spaces left that I am advertising to year 10 Citizenship students. All year 10 Citizenship students will be given this opportunity again in year 11 and on this occasion, the whole class will be able to attend. Due to the small number of spaces left, they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The cost of the trip is £28.50 and payment can be made via Parent Pay in order to secure your child’s place.
If you are facing difficulties in funding this trip, please reach out to me directly at gaby.west@stroodacademy.org and we may be able to support.
The deadline for securing a place on this trip is Friday, 24th January. I encourage you to discuss this opportunity with your child and I will be in contact to inform you if your child has gained a place on this trip and with further, detailed information.
Kind regards,
Mrs West
Assistant Principal
