Strood Academy Letter image

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome to the new academic year 2024/25.

I hope you’ve enjoyed a restful summer break embracing a change of routine, family time and some time with friends. The summer break also gives us all time to reflect upon the achievements and next steps for the new academic year.

We are delighted to share with you a record breaking year for our GCSE results this summer as well as some excellent outcomes for our Year 13 pupils. Please see our press releases below:

It has been a pleasure to celebrate with pupils during our results days and see them all so proud of their achievements.

Please can I remind you that we have a staggered start taking place next week. On Monday 2nd  September we welcome our new Year 7 cohort as well as Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13. On Tuesday 3rd September we will welcome our remaining year groups of Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10. Please be reminded that the academy gate closes at 8:30am.

As in previous years I will write to you each Friday to share our weekly news and celebrate our Achievements.

This letter provides some reminders in reference to our expectations for uniform, absence and a number of other pieces of information we believe will well equip you for the year ahead.

We looking forward to working with you,

Regards,
Mr Jon Richardson | Principal

Care for Chromebooks 24/25

As you’ll now be aware through our previous correspondence we are introducing a more robust care process for our pupils’ Chromebooks. This is to ensure pupils are able to keep their Chromebooks in a good state of repair and to maximise their learning. Pupils are to have a rucksack, backpack or portfolio style bag (no hand bags) along with a Chromebook sleeve.

The below links provide examples, however this part of our uniform isn’t required to be branded with the Strood Academy logo to support parents financially:

  • Amazon Basics Sleeve
  • Brigade chromebook sleeve
  • Brigade bag selection link
