To Parents/Carers,
As we progress through the academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for your unwavering support in ensuring that your child attends school every day. Your commitment to punctuality and regular attendance plays a pivotal role in your child’s success at Strood Academy and contributes significantly to the academic achievement of our students.
I am pleased to report that this module has achieved a remarkable attendance figure of 92.1%, which stands as the highest attendance rate for the whole academic year thus far. This is an impressive achievement, particularly when we consider that over 500 students have maintained perfect attendance with an impressive 100%. Such dedication not only enhances individual learning outcomes but also cultivates a vibrant and engaged school community.
Regular attendance is crucial for your child’s educational journey. Each day in the classroom builds upon the previous one, fostering continuity in learning which is essential for academic development. We encourage you to maintain this trend by continuing to support and motivate your child to attend school regularly. Please remind them of the importance of each school day, not only for their academic progress but also for their social and emotional growth.
Whilst this module has been incredibly positive, I would like to remind you of our policies regarding absence. With the weather being considerably nicer, you may be considering booking a family holiday. Please ensure to book this outside of term time. 10 sessions (5 days) of absence could result in a penalty notice of £160 and most importantly will result in a considerable time of missed learning for your child.
We recognise that there may be challenges that affect attendance, and we are here to support you and your child in overcoming these hurdles. The pastoral teams look forward to celebrating high attendance as well as many other rewards in our rewards assembly this week, along with our module 4 attendance rewards to be given out on the final day of the module.
