Sixth Form Lunchtime Arrangements

Strood Academy Letter image

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to remind you of the privileges afforded to our sixth form students regarding their lunchtime arrangements. As part of their transition into young adulthood, students in the sixth form are permitted to leave the school premises during lunch. This freedom is a significant aspect of their personal development and independence.

However, I must emphasise the importance of adhering to specific protocols designed to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. Students are required to sign out when they leave the school site and sign back in upon their return. This process is vital for safeguarding purposes, allowing us to account for all students during school hours.

We trust that as young adults, your child will take personal responsibility for their safety while off-site. We encourage you to discuss the importance of being mindful of their surroundings and taking necessary precautions when they are away from school. This includes being aware of their choices, the locations they visit during this time, and ensuring they return to school ready to start their final lesson at 2:20pm (12pm on a Wednesday).

We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations at home. Together, we can help our students make responsible decisions while enjoying the privileges that come with being in the sixth form.

Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education and well-being.

Yours sincerely,

Victoria Wrighton | Head of Sixth Form
