Dear Parents and Carers,
As we continue to foster a nurturing and safe environment for our children, I would like to draw your attention to an essential topic regarding road safety. It is crucial that we work together to ensure the safety of our pupils during their journeys to and from the academy.
Road safety is a fundamental aspect of our children’s everyday lives. With the rise in pedestrian traffic during school opening and closing times, it becomes imperative to teach our children the significance of being aware of their surroundings. Simple actions such as looking both ways before crossing the road, using designated crossings, and adhering to traffic signals can make a significant difference in ensuring their safety. Furthermore, as they grow older and gain independence, understanding road safety becomes increasingly vital.
Additionally, I encourage all parents to report any near-misses or incidents you may witness outside the school premises. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us work with local authorities to make our environment safer. It is imperative that we collectively share our observations to create a secure and vigilant community for our children.
We will also be revisiting road safety within our Personal Development curriculum before the end of Module 6 to ensure all pupils are further supported within this area. This will be an excellent opportunity for children and parents alike to deepen their understanding of road safety practices and the importance of adhering to them.
Thank you for your continued support in reinforcing road safety principles with your children. Together, we can help ensure that they develop a responsible attitude towards road usage, keeping them safe as they travel to and from school. Your cooperation is vital in safeguarding the well-being of our children and the community at large.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Jon Richardson | Principal
