Dear Parents and Carers,,

At Strood Academy, we strongly believe that personal development is pivotal to fostering our
students’ self-confidence and overall well-being. We are committed to ensuring that our
students are not just academically accomplished but also well-rounded individuals who
possess skills necessary for the modern world.

As part of our extensive personal development programme, we offer a variety of interventions and clubs during lunchtimes and after school. These activities are designed to cater to the diverse interests of our students and to promote a sense of belonging and community within our school. Please see the timetable for our clubs and intervention sessions for Module 1 below.

We kindly encourage you to discuss these opportunities with your child, urging them to attend clubs that resonate with their interests. In addition, we recommend that they explore new activities that they may be curious about.
Engaging in various activities can enhance personal growth and help students develop qualities aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Learner Profile, such as being knowledgeable inquirers and reflective thinkers. These are essential attributes that contribute to both academic and personal success.

We understand that choosing which activities to participate in can sometimes be
overwhelming, but we assure you that our dedicated staff are here to support and guide your
child in making the best choices for their development.

Should you have any questions regarding the personal development programme or specific
clubs, please do not hesitate to contact me. We are here to assist you and your child in this
enriching journey.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Kind regards,
Mr M Williams | Assistant Principal with responsibility for Personal Development
