Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for your valuable input in the recent parent survey. Your feedback plays a crucial role in shaping the experiences of our students and the overall environment at Strood Academy. We are pleased to share the results of the survey along with the next steps we intend to take based on your contributions.

The survey results reflect a positive sentiment regarding our academy, and we are grateful for the trust and confidence you place in us. A significant majority of parents would recommend Strood Academy to another parent, which is a testament to the supportive community we are building together. Furthermore, 85.40% of parents feel their child has the opportunity to participate in clubs and activities, evidencing our commitment to providing a well-rounded education that nurtures not only academic achievement but also personal growth. Such opportunities are essential for fostering skills and friendships that can last a lifetime.

Regarding academic performance, 77.10% of you reported that your child is doing well, demonstrating the effectiveness of our teaching strategies and the dedication of our staff. In addition, 80.20% of parents believe that your children are being taught to a high standard, which reassures us that we are meeting the expectations we set for ourselves as educators. We continually strive to foster an environment where students are encouraged to engage critically with their learning material and achieve their full potential.

Moreover, a survey indicated that 72.90% of parents feel their children are happy and fulfilled at school. This is vital, as we believe that a child’s overall well-being is equally as important as their academic progress. An environment where students feel secure and content allows for greater focus on their studies and encourages them to embrace challenges with resilience. Likewise, a very high percentage of parents feel that their children are safe at Strood Academy, which aligns with our unwavering commitment to creating a secure learning environment where every child can thrive and develop.

The feedback also reveals that 75% of parents perceive that our academy has high expectations for their children. This is encouraging and reaffirms our dedication to providing strong leadership and clear direction within the school community. Further, 70.80% of parents appreciate the communication regarding their child’s progress, adhering to our principle of fostering transparent partnerships between the academy and parents, which is integral in supporting our students’ success. Additionally, 71.90% of parents report satisfaction with the information provided about the curriculum, highlighting our efforts to ensure clarity and engagement around what students will learn during the academic year.

The overall response rate of “Strongly Agree” or “Agree” across all questions stands at 68.30%, which encapsulates a sense of partnership and shared expectations between the school and our families. We truly value this collaborative relationship and welcome the continued dialogue to enhance our community.

Furthermore, we are also pleased to integrate the findings from the Challenge Partners Quality Assurance Review conducted in November 2024, which corroborates the positive feedback from the parent survey. This external evaluation rated our leadership as ‘Leading’, reflecting the dynamic teamwork driven by our academy staff. This aligns well with the 69.80% of parents who believe the school is well led and managed, confirming our shared vision for creating an inspiring educational experience.

The review affirmed that the quality of teaching at Strood Academy remains high, supported by effective leadership strategies that reflect a shared expectation of excellence. Accordingly, the 80.20% of parents who feel their child is well taught can be confident that this standard is being diligently upheld through professional development for our teachers and ongoing evaluation of teaching practices. We understand that high-quality teaching is central to the success of every student, and we will continue to invest in this area.

Moreover, the recent Challenge Partners report identified ‘Behaviour and Attitudes to Learning’ as an area of excellence. The implementation of consistent routines has contributed to a safer and more focused learning environment, aligning with the 80.20% of parents who feel their children are safe and the 75% who believe the school effectively manages pupil behaviour. Such efforts are designed to foster respect and consideration amongst pupils, which significantly enhances the learning experience for all.

As we strive to improve, the partnership we maintain with parents is another strength highlighted in the report. Strong communication ensures that you receive detailed information about school activities and your child’s progress, which resonates with the feedback from the 70.80% of you who agree that we keep you informed. We recognise that your involvement and support are vital to a child’s educational journey, and we want to maintain and strengthen this connection through regular updates, meetings, and events throughout the year. Additionally, we plan to hold workshops to further engage parents in the educational process, ensuring you have the guidance you need to support your child at home.

Furthermore, the creation of a friendly and organised learning environment is pivotal to our mission, as evidenced by the 72.90% of parents who feel their children are happy in school. Cultivating an atmosphere that promotes kindness, inclusivity, and respect is paramount, and we actively encourage feedback to ensure this environment remains nurturing for all students. We are also glad to report that our wide range of extra-curricular activities meets the needs identified by the 85.40% of parents who wish for greater participation in such offerings. We will continue to explore and expand these opportunities, ensuring that every student is encouraged to pursue their interests and passions beyond the classroom.

In conclusion, we are grateful for your continued support and trust in Strood Academy. The findings from both the parent survey and the Challenge Partners Review validate our efforts and highlight areas for further improvement. Should you have any further questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our administration team or me directly. We are here to listen and work collaboratively to ensure that your children receive the best possible education.

Sending best wishes,
