Engagement Policy

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are writing to you today to emphasise the vital partnership we share in ensuring the success and well-being of all our students at Strood Academy.

As stated in our Engagement of Parents, Carers and Visitors to the Academy Policy, the academy promotes long and successful relationships with parents and carers which are crucial to elevating educational outcomes for students. This belief underpins everything we do as we strive towards our Vision 2028, which is focused on providing an exceptional education for every pupil and enabling them to become highly ambitious, successful citizens who are well positioned to create a better world.

This outlines our shared commitment to fostering a constructive relationship that will enhance the educational ambience for students. We believe that a positive and collaborative relationship between home and school is key to helping your child thrive. As highlighted in our Vision and Values, our parents believe in our mission and work in partnership to achieve excellence. We also aim to develop strong, collaborative community relations.

To ensure Strood Academy remains a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all, the Engagement Policy sets out some important expectations for behaviour. We expect all parents, carers, and visitors to exhibit reasonable and respectful behaviour at all times towards staff and other constituents of the Academy community. Professional and respectful communication is pivotal and supports the educational and emotional welfare of the students.

We understand that concerns may occasionally arise, and our initial response to addressing such situations will be through dialogue and mediation with relevant college teams. We encourage you to to utilise our contact us section on the website to facilitate effective communication and interactions.

Thank you for your continued support and for being such valued partners in your child’s education. By working together, we can ensure that Strood Academy continues to be a place where every student can thrive and achieve their full potential.

Sincerely,

Mr Jon Richardson
Principal
