Dear Parents/Carers,

Firstly, thank you for the support that you have provided over the past academic year. Since joining the academy after the Easter holidays I have been overwhelmed by the support received from parents/carers and the local community. We know that working together we enhance your child’s development during their schooling with us. Thank you.

You are aware that over the past 13 school weeks there have been many changes to the academy, all in which have created a calm, settled and purposeful environment for your child. We have made many changes in relation to uniform, pupil engagement and also the curriculum your child will be taught from September. From September we have adapted the academy day to support our teaching and learning and we are re-launching our co-curricular activity programme to provide a club for all children to participate in. Alongside these developments, we’ve had a range of trips, excursions and much more to support your child in developing their experiences outside of the classroom.

We are extremely proud and grateful of how our pupils have responded and embraced the challenges along the way. We are certainly at an exciting stage of our journey.

This morning I was able to spend the morning in College reward assemblies. Wow, we have some incredibly talented young people, from a school band, to readings amongst others, what a fantastic showcase of the talent we work with each and every day. Pupils were rewarded for a range of aspects, including excellent contributions to academy life, achievements outside of school as well as attendance recognition which we all know is vital to success.

Please do take a moment to read our weekly bulletin that was published on Monday, this is an extended version with a range of information from across the curriculum. I’m sure you’ll find it an enjoyable read.

We have also heavily contributed to the LAT Summer Newsletter. Please do take a moment to read this. Again showcasing all of the excellent work that our pupils have been completing.

Our newspaper team have also been extremely busy producing a further publication. Please do have a read for the summer release of this. Well done to all pupils involved. A very impressive read.

We look forward to seeing all pupils back in the academy in September, please click here for further information and details on our staggered start to the new academic year but also the term dates for 2023/24.

I wish you all a happy, healthy and safe summer break. Please ensure that you make time to embrace the hobbies and interests you sometimes don’t get time for during the busy school year.

Thank you for your continued support,

Yours sincerely,

Mr Jon Richardson
Principal
