PE and Performing Arts Update

Term 2 has been another busy term for PE and Performing Arts, and we are pleased to bring you some of the highlights and photos below:

105 students performed to an audience of nearly 400 people in the Strood Academy WinterFest production. There was a huge variety of performances, including collaborations of singers, instrumentalists and dancers, a flutist, several drama, singing and dance performances and a superb band playing ‘Step into Christmas.’ This was our best show yet in front of a record audience.

Strood Academy students again performed well at the Medway Schools Games Futsal tournament at Medway Park, with the Year 9 and 10 girls finishing runner-up.
Year 10 GCSE PE students attended the University of Kent at Medway to experience sports science, and completed a number of laboratory tests.
Year 11 GCSE students completed their rock climbing assessment at Arethusa.
Some of our best performers provided musical entertainment at the Elderly Christmas Tea Party.

We also had a Strood Academy first this term, as we broadcast several handball and futsal fixtures live on YouTube, which were also watched by students in the school canteen during break and lunchtimes.
